Mark Tanney joined Gilbert Oshinsky LLP in May 2003 and is a Senior Staff Attorney.  He focuses his practice on complex, multiparty insurance disputes and consumer advocacy, balancing litigation with alternative dispute resolution.  Before beginning private practice, Mark clerked for Judge William M. Acker, Jr., of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. A native of Los Angeles, Mark and his family currently reside in Rockville, Maryland.

Examples of recent matters include:

  • Representing consumers in a class action alleging fraud in a particular practice of the timeshare industry
  • Representing consumers in a class action against a large title insurance company alleging a broad-based pattern of overcharges
  • Representing claimants against a large insurance company in a class action relating to coverage for asbestos injury
